Action Felix

Dear Diary,

Dear Diary: It's so nice to be able to go on a vacation for once! No major digs or mysteries to uncover, just a good time in New Orleans with Felix. At least, that was the idea... but I couldn't help trying to listen in on the loud telephone conversation occurring in the next door room.

Unfortunately, I couldn't hear anything, so I tried to forget about it and focus on getting ready. But it's still bugging me... maybe I should stick around the Pontchartrain Hotel a bit longer and see what I can hear?

I heard that loud voice next to my room in Pontchartrain again! Felix could wait five seconds... I decided to see if I can hear the guy better this time.

When I finally did make out what the guy was saying, it sounded like he was talking about some sort of murder! I couldn't catch the details, but it has something to do with the parade, and a man named Louis Lambert is involved somehow. I'm really curious, but Felix and I have to head to Tulane... maybe I can look into this later.

Felix and I went to see Nigel at Tulane University, and he was kind enough to give us two tickets to the Tulane Ball. But turns out that whole assassination plot I overheard is also going down at the Tulane Ball! While we were watching the parade outside, I overheard someone mention Louis Lambert and that they were going to take a shot at the King of the ball. The criminals escaped in the crowds before we could catch them, but we did bump into a very interesting man, a real Voodoo priest. He gave me an amulet and told me to tell the Baron 'hello.' Is there going to be a baron at this party? In any event, Felix and I have to go shopping for costumes on Chartres Street, then get dressed at Pontchartrain Hotel. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to this party or not!

Felix and I made it to the party at Tulane University and finally found the mysterious Louis Lambert. Turned out he was actually an investigator who was trying to catch the men trying to assassinate the King of Tulane. His employer's Voodoo magic hadn't worked - apparently - so he asked us to check out the ballroom. While we were waiting, a gentleman named Mr. Saturday came over to me, apparently very interested in my necklace. I got so distracted by him that I nearly missed stopping the assassin!. Luckily, Mr. Saturday... or as he called himself, Baron Samedi... saved the day before disappearing into the night. What a party! After a night like tonight, think it's best to just crash at Pontchartrain Hotel again and sleep for ages!

I told Felix all about the Baron at the party... still difficult to wrap my brain around what happened. I suppose Voodoo really is the real thing! Now how to explain what happened to Professor Hemsworth...?
